Dudley, the Best Pony Ever!
We were fortunate enough to have Dudley, the best pony ever, live with us for the last years of his life. He was the best baby sitter. My daughter, Sahana would sit on him reading her book. Then after awhile I would notice her fast asleep on his back, the book on the ground and Dudley patiently standing there or quietly grazing.
When Sahana's friends or cousins came to visit, Dudley was the
center of attention and took all of their antics in stride. For
several summers in a row we took some of the horses to the cabin at
Birchdale
which is a two hour ride in, all going as planned. In the summer of
2004, we took three Icelandics, Kolur, Stimmi and Embla along with
Dudley. We invited three of Sahana's
friends to spend a week. It was there when the Pony Pals decided to
put together a skit called "Dudley the Valiant". Stay tuned for the
launch of the video on Youtube!!!!
A fairy tale with a happy ending, prince Ben rescues the princess Sarah with his valiant steed! From the Pony Pal skit "Dudley the Valiant".

Sahana's cousin Kalil had never ridden before. Dudley always seemed to know and never reacted. At the worst he would run away at a walk.

Dudley's final goodbye with Sahana as we await the vet. He had fallen on the ice and severely damaged his pelvis. As he was approximately 30 years of age we made the most difficult decision to let him go........
